Whether You Believe In Global Warming Or Not

Global warming, it's an issue in which many are divided.  Some believe global warming is happening, others choose not to believe.  There's scientific evidence supporting both sides, although much more scientific evidence supporting that global warming is happening.  Either way, I ask you to watch the following video.  It's only about 10 minutes long, and I think it makes a good point. We as human beings have a responsibility to take care of this planet.  After all, it's where we live.  Even if you disagree with the idea of global warming, you have to recognize that it's tough to prove your argument, just like it's tough to prove the argument for global warming.  So why not play it safe?  If you don't believe the idea of global warming, then people like you will be elected all around the world for a long time.  If global warming does exist, then we just adverted a possible world disaster.  Anyway, I don't see any more need to continue writing, the video sums it up pretty well.  Leave a comment.

Thanks

Religion and Government

First off, I'd like to state that I'm not bashing any sort of religion.  I believe that all people are equal, and that your beliefs should be respected.  People choose to become a part of a religion because they think it will make them better people, and I really believe that because of religion, there are some good people out there.  This isn't to say that non-religious people can't be good people, I myself am non-religious, so you may consider me biased in the blog, but I try hard not to be.  Anyway, enjoy the rest of the blog.

Here's an issue that shouldn't be argued, but it is.  There is no place for religion having an influence on any democratic government.  The only possible reason that religion should have ever a place in office, is if every single citizen of a nation happens to be the exact same religion.  This however, is never going to happen.  The world today is a very multicultural place, with many religions and cultures within a country.  What right do conservative governments(generally, sorry for the stereotype, I'm not disagreeing with the conservative stance on everything, just this) have to say that their (generally Christian) religion is right, and therefore Christian views now apply to everyone in our country.  For example, the only argument against gay marriage is that the "traditional" definition of marriage according to the bible states that it is between a man and a woman.  Then why is it that only 4 countries in the world have fully legalized gay marriage, and only another 12 have other various forms of legal recognition of same-sex partnerships?  It's because too many governments in the world are doing things based on religion, because they happen to be religious themselves.  People have the right to believe whatever they wish, it's a human right, but they don't have any right to deny others what they allow themselves because it's against their beliefs.

The conservative viewpoint on many issues in the western world is based on religion.  I don't see how they can take this viewpoint while knowing that the world is a multicultural place.  Who made them god(no pun intended), and allowed them to make the decision for all people that their religion is right? Religion is being used as a weapon against people, people are using religion(knowing that many people are religious), and convincing people that they are doing is right because religion says so.  Politicians should be convincing people that what they're doing is right because it benefits the people in a very positive way.

I know many people may now likely think I'm a commie liberal, but I'd like you to know that I try not to be associated with a political viewpoint, and try to be associated with doing the right thing.  The basis for my views is human equality, through that I try to express my opinion on other issues.  There are things about both sides of the political spectrum that I dislike.  This just happens to be something that I disagree with that happens to be on the right side of the political spectrum.  Hope you enjoyed, maybe it made you think.  Thanks for reading, leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

I'm Sick and Tired of the Separation of Political Views

I'm sick of the classification of people, and parties based on political views. Just because you're a liberal doesn't mean you have to believe in every single thing the liberal political party of your nation believes in, and the same goes for conservatives. We need a party called the "Right" party, a party who is going to stop caring about following their political stereotype, and just do what's right. But who is to decide what's right, and what's wrong? The people, that's who. The downfall of the democratic system is the fact that the majority of people who actually run, are so caught up in the idea that everything their political party says is right, that they'll do whatever they can to support it, even if the people don't.

This needs to end, there needs to be people out there who are willing to run to represent the people, and not a political viewpoint.

Democracy: a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them

There is no perfect political party, a party who represents the ideas and beliefs of every person in a nation, so instead we choose to vote for the party who best represents what we believe in. We could have an entire nation disagree with one party's stance on an issue, but because the majority of people vote for them based on their stance on other issues, a bill on the issue that no one agrees with may pass, just because the elected representatives aren't willing to disagree with their political party.

Another problem with our so called "democratic" system is that our parties, when elected, are only going to do things for the people who voted for them. If a party wins a 55% majority, does the other 45% of the nation deserve to have their voices ignored, just because they didn't vote for the party in power? These people we vote for, the people we choose to represent us, aren't doing their job. We're choosing people that are making the decisions for us, they aren't always necessarily representing us.

Everyone in the world is different, no one has the exact same views as another person, and therefore representatives are going to have somewhat different views than the people voting for them. After elected, a representative should listen to the ideas of all people, including the ones who did not vote for them, who knows, the majority of the people you represent may disagree with an issue you support, and therefore so should you.

Anyway, now I'm just blabbering on, those are some thoughts of mine on our political system. Maybe you agree with me, maybe not, either way it would be great to hear from you, so leave a comment if you wish, thanks.

Maybe...

This is likely just another blog, another blog that's just like the next, that offers the opinion of someone you've never met or ever likely to meet. Maybe with me that'll be different, maybe not, you can stop reading now, go off to do whatever you'd like, but maybe, just maybe, I'll offer something that people like, something people may have thought of before, but never published. This is the blog of a teenage boy. This is the blog of someone who realizes the problems of today, someone willing to attempt to do something about it, it may take time, years, decades, but if I can even make one difference to the world, if I can change one bad thing into something good, then I'll have succeeded. Maybe I can start something, who knows, maybe I'll change this world into a world of good people willing to do something. There's no lack of good people in this world, there is a lack of people willing to take action, to do the right thing even if looked down upon.

Yes, this is probably the same old crap you've read before, this isn't some brilliant person with a doctorate in English. I realize you may be reading this and thinking to yourself that I'm terrible at writing. However, that's not what I'm trying to get across, if you take the time to read my blog, maybe I'll get you thinking, maybe you'll come away with the message I was trying to send. Yes, this blog is just the opinion of this teenage boy, but it's also the opinion of a citizen of not just a country, I'm a citizen of the world. We all live on this planet, yet few work together to get what's really important done.

Call me arrogant, call me egotistical, but I believe that I know what's right, I consider myself open-minded enough to attempt to see problems from the views of all sorts of people. As I continue to write on this blog, you'll learn my opinion on not only world issues, but much more, my opinion on many aspects of life. Being young, you may not believe me to be wise enough for you to be listening to me. Don't judge me by my age, we all are young at one point, and the basis for all of our opinions and beliefs start somewhere, they start where I am today.

I intend to write on this blog continually for the years to come, if you choose to continue to read this blog that would be appreciated, maybe if enough people agree with how I feel, things can get done, change can happen. If you people are open minded to read the opinion of a young person, then maybe you'll find you agree with me on many issues, maybe you won't, who knows. Comment what I write if you have an opinion, I will read it, and write back to you if I have time. I'm going to be open to any ideas you have. If you think maybe my opinion on things will be an interesting read, bookmark this page, check back once a week. Maybe with enough readers something big could happen, maybe.
